Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum - 30th Annual Antique & Classic Boat Festival

The event attracts runabouts, yachts, race boats, work boats, launches, hydroplanes, utilities. This year, it features the sailing log canoe, a regional adaptation of the traditional Indian dugout canoe. Log canoes were used from the 18th–20th century to harvest oysters, transport goods, carry passengers. The festival also includes juried fine artists; craftspeople; vendors offering maritime-themed items; workshops; seminars; building demonstrations; a nautical flea market; regional and grilled foods; music; waterside bar. Children’s activities include boatbuilding projects and the Hagerty Insurance Marine Youth Judging program, where youth learn about preserved and restored classic boats. The headline of Saturday’s marine seminars is John C. North II’s presentation on log canoes. Cruises aboard the Winnie Estelle will be offered throughout the festival. Non-service dogs are prohibited. The festival includes two-day admission to all of CBMM’s special and permanent exhibitions. The fee is $18/adults; $15/seniors & students with ID; $6 ages 6–17. Festival parking for all three days and a Saturday shuttle service are free.
